Okay, so let’s be honest here for one hot minute. I own a lot of makeup. Way too much makeup if you ask me. I’m a 2 year member of Sephora’s VIB Rouge program. But I love trying new palettes so I just can’t help myself from buying more. Truth be told, I don’t wear very much makeup on a daily basis. I’m not like those beauty bloggers who apply 10 lbs of makeup before leaving their house. I often leave the house with very little or no makeup on at all. I’m a mom. That’s just the way my life is now. But when I have the chance to go all out, I totally do.
So here’s a look at my vanity and my most loved collection of makeup. I have more but it’s mostly stuff I don’t use very often that has since been put into storage.
So I bought this cute little unicorn mug with the intention of using it as an actual mug. But I just couldn’t pass up the chance to use it on my vanity. It holds mostly eyeliner and eyebrow pencils.
Basically the top of my vanity holds all of my favorite makeup that I use regularly ― every single Urban Decay naked palette, a variety of lipsticks, mascara, highlighters, blush, bronzers, and so on.
How cute is this brush holder? I actually own two. I use the other one in my office as a pen holder.
My middle drawer holds items I use regularly but couldn’t fit anywhere else ― a variety of eye palettes, an assortment of lipstick, and highlighters/bronzers.
This drawer contains the palettes/beauty sets I don’t use on a regular basis. Tarte’s Christmas collector sets, Naked Basics, White Chocolate Chip, and others. Most of these products are great for occasional use but a few just didn’t make the cut ― Urban Decay’s horrible Backtalk palette (more on that here) and Tarte’s boring Rainforest of the Sea palette.
And this drawer is where I keep my just okay items ― NARs foundation, Ipsy glambag items, lipgloss/lipsticks in shades that I don’t totally love, Stay Flawless primer that actually does the opposite of what it claims. And so on.
